The engineering manager possesses abilities to apply engineering principles and skills in organizing and directing people and projects. He is uniquely qualified for two types of jobs: the management of technical functions (such as design, production and maintenance) and the top management of  engineering and technology companies (more popularly termed industrial organizations).
